General Motors is ready to flip the switch from pink, to purple. Throughout October, the GM Renaissance Center was lit pink for breast cancer awareness month. Little do many know, November is pancreatic cancer awareness month, and the RenCen will make that information known.
According to local Detroit affiliate WXYZ, the GM RenCen will be lit purple starting November 7 through November 13. The display will include a purple ribbon at the top, rotating between it and the GM logo.
The RenCen will not be lit in purple on November 10, however, as another group has reserved the building for a separate event.
The Sky Foundation was created to raise awareness and funds to fight pancreatic cancer and will hold a fundraiser on November 8 at the MGM Grand Hotel in Detroit in accordance with the lighting of the RenCen.
