NASCAR’s Danica Patrick is a role model for many younger viewers of the sport. Her status as the only female in the Sprint Cup Series also makes her popular among aspiring female racing drivers – one of which got  the surprise of a lifetime on Ellen this week.
11-year old Mackenzie Marsh has been racing karts since she was just four-and-a-half and hopes to one day become a NASCAR driver, naturally. She was invited to the Ellen show under the premises of discussing her racing career, however Ellen had bigger plans, bringing out Danica Patrick from behind the curtains to Mackenzie’s surprise.
If that wasn’t enough, Danica and Mackenzie also raced each other on a makeshift go-kart track outside Ellen’s studios along with Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber. It’s great to see Mackenzie’s dream of meeting Danica come true and knowing Ellen’s track record of inviting her guests back to the show, this is probably not the last we’ll see of Mackenzie and Danica together on the daytime program.
