Remember the brief report regarding General Motors and it providing a fuel cell vehicle for the U.S. Army to test? Well, today we’ve received our first look at what Chevrolet and GM plans on providing.
Chevrolet provided the teaser image sketch above, previewing a radical Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck utilizing the automaker’s latest in fuel cell technology. The Colorado will run on a commercial hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system and be used by the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research, Development & Engineering Center for testing under the extremes of daily military use for 12 months.
Other than those details, and the sketch, information is sparse on the project, but we hope to learn more in the coming months.
General Motors global product chief, Mark Reuss, previously stated the automaker signed a multi-year contract to provide and demonstrate a fuel cell reconnaissance vehicle.

This is insanity.. General Motors developing a Hydrogen fuel cell for the US Army as it makes you wonder in what battle field would there be Hydrogen fuel. One would think a more logical fuel cell system would be one that was powered diesel as this is what other trucks used by the US Army is powered using.
