The Chevrolet Corvette isn’t just a super star in the U.S., it’s an icon world wide.
The Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi recently hosted an event last Friday on October 30th in an attempt to raise breast cancer awareness in the Middle East by using a group of Corvettes to gain attention, brilliant strategy if you ask us. The event was hosted as part of the Marina Mall’s Corporate Social Responsibility campaign called ‘Let Hope Shine.’
“At Marina Mall Abu Dhabi we believe our business growth has to be socially responsible. We work closely with the local community through our CSR program ‘Let Hope Shine’, which gives us the opportunity to truly make a difference in the community,” said Bruce von Kaufmann, General Manager at the Marina Mall.
So what went down exactly? Well, 50 Chevrolet Corvettes made their way from the Cancer Organization Booth to the Marina Mall with a police escort. The fleet of ‘vettes included a snazzy, red convertible 1963 Corvette, along with C3 Corvettes, C4 Corvettes, C6 Corvettes, and C7 Corvettes, all branded with breast cancer awareness vinyls.
It’s nice to see just how forceful the site of a Corvette (or 50) can be, and it’s great seeing folks come together for a tremendous cause.
