Chevrolet Colorado Diesel Earns Reader’s Choice Truck Of The Year

By now, you’ve probably heard of the recent streak of awards bestowed on Chevrolet: Motor Trend named the 2016 Camaro its Car of the Year and the 2016 Colorado its Truck of the Year, while the 2015 Tahoe has been named Best Large SUV by MECOTY (Middle East Car of the Year). But that’s not it.

AutoGuide has named the 2016 Colorado Diesel the Reader’s Choice Truck of the Year, having been swayed by the fact that the Colorado is the only mid-size truck to offer a diesel engine — the 2.8 liter Duramax. The engine puts out 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.

“Power from this diesel engine is fantastic,” says AutoGuide‘s Stephen Elmer. “With all of the torque coming on at just 2,000 rpm, this little engine pulls with confidence and strength.”

If you’d like to get a further impression of the Colorado diesel, check out GM Authority’s first-hand review.
