The station wagon has, for better or worse, become a body style of the past in the American marketplace. Popular throughout the 1950s and 1960s, the wagon was slowly replaced by the sport utility vehicle, which has now been replaced with the crossover utility vehicle (which are basically tall, wide station wagons, America).
The enthusiast community hasn’t let go of the wagon, so, we preserve them any chance we get. That includes this immaculate 1963 Chevrolet Nova wagon. This 1963 Chevy Nova wagon has surfaced for sale by Corvette Mike, who has provided a video detailing the car up above.
The 1963 Nova wagon ditches its original straight-six engine and two-speed powerglide transmission for a 327 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic transmission. It remains unclear if the powertrain swap occurred shortly after the vehicle was born, as these types of dealer installed options were quite common, but, nonetheless, it’s a real rarity to see one in nearly stock form.

Great to see this ’63 Nova; brings back great memories of my first car, bought the day I graduated from college: ’63 Nova convertible, same color: Saddle Tan. Wish I still had the car!
Actually the vehicle is a Chevy II with the Nova trim level, which was the top of the line. There was a 100 and 300 trim level as well. V8 didn’t become available until ’64. Our first new car when I was a kid was ’63 4-door sedan with the 194cu in and power glide. 300 trim level. Relative had a ’62 wagon 100 which had minimum chrome trim and hub caps. Nice wagon in this article!
