Now that you have seen the all-new, 2017 Cadillac XT5 inside out and from nearly every angle, we want to know the answer to a very simple question — one that we ask after the debut of every new vehicle: is the XT5 hot, or not?
So, vote in the poll below and share with us the reasoning behind your vote in the comments.

In interior is really clean. Well done, Caddy.
Seriously hot. I would consider it as a daily driver; I’ve never once before considered a CUV/SUV as a personal car.
You’ve come a long way baby!
Yes, very elegant
I hope the material covered dash is leather or a soft cloth
oh stop it. it’s just another lame CUV
It’s hot for a CUV, but you’re right, it’s just a CUV.
Delivery Man, I understand your sentiments. Hopefully this CUV and the upcoming ones will generate enough revenue for Cadillac to take Mercedes-Benz head on in each of their market segments.
THANK YOU, it doesn’t even look much different than the last one. Sure it’s higher quality and better in every way. but so what? actually scratch that. If it does as well as the last at least it wiull be a moneymaker for Cadillac.
That said I don’t care, and would never by one.
Glad to see GM is putting the rear wipers up at the top again. They started that with the new Tahoes and such. And now this. GM hasn’t done rear wipers mounted up top like that since what the early 90s? It’s the smalls things 🙂
Its a nice SUV . The outer door handles that are lit is a nice touch ( are they always on or just when unlocking the door ?) I think the best angle of it is the front end , has kind of a mean look to it . The interior looks comfortable , not crazy about the pass-thru under the console , Lexus has that . The back seat and door panels look alot better , some vehicles skimp on the rear area . Can’t wait to drive one !
I drive a SRX and love it! Can’t wait to drive the new Cadillac XT5, because it will be assembled in Springhill, TN . I love the look and I am sure will love the extra room
I find the design warm. I think Caddy has done a good job with the interior and looked much improved compared to my ATS. Overall I think the exterior design is okay, however the front looks a bit bulky giving it a nose heavy and slightly portly appearance. I do like the rear end design. I just hope the pictured wheels are not the only option as they look far too generic in my eyes.
The car comes standard with 18″ wheels. 20’s are optional…I’m guessing the ones shown are the 20’s.
Quite possibly our first foray into a Caddy. Well done!
The current SRX is still easily our best-selling Cadillac model. I’m sure we won’t have a problem selling every one our dealership gets.
another slab sided design
Seriously. What is wrong with you?
Hot overall, and continues “GM on a roll” theme with new technology (2016 Volt) and best engineering in the US. But my minor peeve is the nose/grill looks, of all things, like a Chrysler minivan to me. Not edgy enough, and too bulky. LOVE the idea of lightweight tech with the same safety levels, tho!! Great!
Love that this midsizer is 100 lbs. lighter than the Q5 which is the best selling compact crossover right now.
Great job overall but he front end is a little Chrysler Town & County or Pacifica for my liking though.
I’ll wait to see it in the flesh for final judgement.
I like the look of the new XT5 and I particularly like the interior. I have a 2012 SRX Performance Edition and was hoping to like the XT5. Having read that the pricing will be similar to the current model, I’ll probably order one at the end of next year.
Can someone tell me the car numbering convention that allows this to be a 2017 while we are still in 2015? Is this number an indication that there won’t be any new models until 2018? Or is it that we won’t see this thing until 2017?
Model years start on October 1st. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. In this case, XT5 production begins early in the 2016 calendar year for the 2017 model year.
It launches in the first half of 2016 calendar year as a 2017 model year vehicle. It just starts as 2017 a bit earlier than the other vehicles do, but also because the last year of the SRX is 2016.
Do I personally think it’s hot? No, for reasons I’ve stated many times before (FWD & proportions).
Do I think it’s hot considering it’s competition (Lexus RX, Acura MDX)? It’ll be a slam dunk for that sub-segment. When I saw the new Lexus RX interior, I thought I’d be worried for Cadillac, but after seeing this? Nope. The RX is living on borrowed time.
Agree with you about RX and MDX but also the new XT5 is hot because it is elegant and well put together.
why are Cadillacs are so slab-sided these days
It look slightly different from the Acadia.
its a nice CUV but the slab-sided look does not scream FLAGSHIP…..I wish the XT5 is not so slab-sided.
