Corvette Racing has long been a staple in motorsports, but 2015 has made for one hell of a year. The Corvette Racing team brought home a victory at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the C7.R’s road-going brethren, the 2016 C7 Corvette Z06, reined supreme during Car and Driver’s annual Lightning Lap.
Chevrolet dropped official details earlier this year on how it would celebrate the Corvette’s motorsports history, and it’s all bundled in the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R edition. After giving us a look at the goods, Chevrolet has debuted the special edition at the 2015 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Merely 500 examples will be offered in the United States of the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R edition, and you may have it in any color as long as its Corvette Racing Yellow, or standard black.
Additionally, each special edition receives an “R-Edition graphics package”, black wheels with yellow accents, carbon fiber ground effects, a new carbon-fiber hood with Jake Skull logo, Corvette Racing sill plates and a serialized C7.R Edition interior plaque among other unique enhancements.
By the way, as we pointed out in our original coverage of the C7.R edition, if you’re looking for exclusivity, put the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition on your radar, as its small production numbers equate to small production cycles than a Porsche 918, and Lamborghini Aventador SV.
