General Motors’ alpha males (see what we did there?) have found their way onto Car and Driver’s annual 10Best list. Holding down the fort from GM were the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro and 2016 Cadillac CTS V-Sport.
C&DÂ called the attention to detail in the 2016 CTS V-Sport’s suspension a notch above the German competitors, calling it the perfect blend between a comfortable daily driver, but still able to reach out into the driver’s inner track day star. Handling and ride cemented the 2016 CTS V-Sport’s spot on this year’s 10Best list.
This isn’t the first accolade the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has received, after previously cleaning up to earn Motor Trend’s 2016 Car of the Year. The 2016 Camaro made its way to the 10Best list in part due to its stout handling, and delightful 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine, which the publication said “has the same punchy startup bark and pissed-off snort at full throttle as in the Corvette.”
Another hefty serving of congratulations to GM, Cadillac and Chevrolet for creating a few all stars this year.

I have driven the ATS and CTS and no doubt they ride and handle great.
I have yet to drive the 6th gen Camaro. I am assuming it rides and handles pretty awesome.
This is my opinion on the looks of the 6th gen Camaro:
The dealership by me finally had a 6th gen Camaro in and that was the first time I seen one in person…I gotta say it still has a cartoony look to it.
There is still something about the proportions that make it look odd. I really thought by the images I had seen that this car would be a great looker. I was expecting this to be the best looking pony car GM made. Unfortunately it was a bit underwhelming.
maybe it was the color since it was white.
From the front is where it looks the silliest. the car looks fat from the grille/front fascia then the low window/roof is what gives it an odd appearance.
Looks good from the side.
I certainly hope Mr. Ellinghaus will take the opportunity to SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS that the Cadillac CTS-V has been named a Motor Trend Car of the Year. He missed that boat in 2014 when the CTS was name Motor Trend’s Car of the Year. I hope he doesn’t screw up again. If he does, he should be fired!!!!!
Back when they debuted the camaro they mentioned that there were three more engine options. I don’t know if that included the copo that is coming out or not. But if not that gives us a z28 and a zl1.
The z28 I’m expecting to weigh around the z06 corvette. Just with less power. Maybe letting the ls7 rain one more time. Through another gen. The zl1 I’m expecting to have the lt4 in it all the while weighing a little more than the mustang gt.
But what has me confused is what could be the third model? Because the z28 and zl1 take up two engine options and leaves us with an unexpected 3rd model in hiding. Is there going to be a more outrageous model? Maybe they are bringing back the irock z camaro for the 3rd engine option? Or something more compelling to go against the the gt350. Even if the the ss is already proving to be a challenge against the base gt350.
Tony1991, I think you may be confused (unless of course you’ve heard something completely different than the mass public). I think that the three engine options (not more) that you’re speaking of is the base 4 cylinder, the V6, and the V8 in SS trim. To my knowledge, anything beyond that is pure speculation, although we’ve seen rumored ZL1’s testing around the Nurburgring. Until Chevy officially confirms a ZL1, Z28, IROC Z, or any other variant, it’s pure speculation at this point.
I read it when they debuted the camaro. They had these engine options plus three more. But I know the new copo came out with three different engines. These could be the three other engines that I’m thinking of. I’m trying to find the article where I read about three other engine options. If I find it I’ll post it on here. But to the camoed model, I’ve heard rumors that it could possibly be a z28. The plates that they are using is supposedly the z28 plates. But I’ve also heard that might just end up combining the z28 and the zl1 and essentially making a hybrid like what they are supposedly doing with the c7 z06.
