Months prior, we came across the patent filing for one “Camaro Krypton“. Speculation swirled of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro appearing in the upcoming Superman film, or even an inbound special edition. The reality is closer to the latter, as Chevy has pulled the wraps off its final Camaro concept for the 2015 SEMA Show: the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Krypton.
The luminescent quality behind krypton, one of the six noble gases, is the inspiration behind the bespoke exterior color, titled Krypton Green, and crafted only for SEMA and this particular concept.
The Camaro Krypton features an electroluminescent paint technology, which we’d love to learn more about. Chevrolet merely says with the flip of a switch, the dynamic design comes alive with illuminated bowties on the body sides.
The concept also features the available RS package, which includes 20-inch wheels, high-intensity discharge headlamps custom-trimmed in green, darkened taillamps, unique upper and lower grilles and a rear spoiler.
The 2016 Camaro Krypton concept sits as the most outlandish of Camaro concepts at the 2015 SEMA Show, but sometimes wild is a lot better than mild.
