It’s nearing the year’s end, and that means it’s automotive award season. All across the industry, publications are ready to hand out recognition to the best of the best we’ve seen this year.
The 2016 C7 Corvette Z06 has been quite the performer all year, and AutoGuide readers seem to be keen on the American-performance brute. The 2017 C7 Corvette Z06 has been awarded Reader’s Choice Sports Car of the Year.
“Call it old-school, dated or traditional. If you own a Z06, you won’t care,” said Mike Schlee, AutoGuide road test editor. “Instead, you’ll be too busy setting blistering lap times. It’s stupid fast and the capabilities of this machine are ridiculous. This is the new super ‘Vette and it’s out for blood.”
The 2016 C7 Corvette beat out a host of other high-performance metal including Cadillac ATS-V, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S.
