Richard Childress Racing’s Ty Dillon drove to victory under the lights at Charlotte Friday, beating out driver of the No. 20 Toyota Erik Jones in his No. 33 Rheem Chevrolet. The result is Dillon’s fourth victory and 14th top-10 finish in 2015 and his fourth top 10 finish in six races at Charlotte.
The win also gives Dillon the sweep of both NASCAR Xfinity Series races at Charlotte, with the younger Dillon brother having also won at NASCAR’s home track in May. It’s only the seventh sweep of Charlotte in Xfinity series history.
In third behind Dillon and Jones was NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular brad Keselowski in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang. The podium result was Keselowski’s 14th top ten XFinity series finish in 2015.
Current Xfinity series leader Chris Buescher finished seventh Friday, with runner up Chase Elliott bringing his Chevy home in ninth. The NASCAR Xfinity Series will continue when it joins the Sprint Cup Series at Kansas next week for the Kansas Lottery 300.
