The Buick Envision Looks To Be A Winner: Wordless Wednesday

No matter which photo or angle we look at, we can’t help but fall in love with the Buick Envision. Based on GM’s D2XX platform, the compact crossover has been on sale in China for the last year or so, and we can’t wait to see it reach American shores in the second half of 2016 — when demand for CUVs like the Envision is expected to continue being hot.

But for now, all we can do is enjoy these Buick Envision pictures.

  1. Buick how long do we have to wait to have this in the US? C’mon get it together and bring it here because the competition is passing you by without it.

    1. Agreed. It’s coming in H2 of 2016, as per the article: “we can’t wait to see it reach American shores in the second half of 2016.”

  2. The rumor was that it was going to be imported from china. Any news if that is true?

    1. Form what I have been able to deduce, that was a bargaining chip in GM’s negotiations with the UAW, which have now come to an end.

As for where it will be made, I’d look at this here link (North American tab):

  4. The interior looks well done, and these computer-generated exterior photos give it a somewhat prominent appearance. However, after looking at the live photos and video of the Envision, I’m a bit underwhelmed by the exterior design. They’ve got something going on with the face, but the side profile looks s bit too “minivan-ish” or “tall wagon-ish”. It’s quite funny in a way: given the computer based exterior photos make it look more attractive than seeing one in person. Hopefully, whatever Buick gets in this class it’ll be American made and incorporate more of the Avenir’s design.

  5. The question is if GM thinks America is ready for a Chinese built Buick . Thats a huge gamble . Buick does need an SUV to sell in that market , it would fill in their portfolio . Is there even an assembly plant in North America that could produce it . If the UAW is going to look the other way and allow GM to export it , then whats to stop other makes or models to follow . I believe it would be a huge mistake , ( here come the thumbs down ) , but how can an American Company do business with a Communist regime , they are in a cyber war with us , don’t give a &%$# about the enviroment or their own population . Just my .02 !

  6. I find your statements interesting! Are we not the one’s that are trying to beat the door down to try to open up new businesses in Communist regimes such as Cuba and questionable Democracies such as India that both have environmental and human rights issues. Yet, my god we cannot do business with China! Remember, GM still has relations with Russia, least we forget! GM has businesses in all the mentioned countries except Cuba for now. I can see some sort of assembly facility showing up there sooner or later for export. In the words of John Kerry in a news interview, ” If we don’t open up relations with Cuba now, … why… why their economy would collapse!” This is contradictory to statements made by dear leader Obama of course.

  7. Overall, a nice looking CUV, but why can’t Buick design some exciting, dramatic looking tail lamps instead of the uninspiring, plain vanilla designs on it’s model lineup?
