Does this car make sense to anybody…why not just buy the CTS????
It’s a Chinese thing. There are stretched-wheelbase variants of nearly all compact and midsize luxury sedans, including those from Caddy, Benz, Audi, and BMW. Owners of these cars get driven around in the back seat rather than drive them themselves… and a CTS is too expensive for those looking to buy in the compact segment.
This looks really good! GM should scrap the current ATS for the IUS and build this instead!
AS for those saying that this is simply a CTS in all but name, note that the CTS is just under ten inches longer and has a longer wheel-base:
ATS-L CTS
Wheelbase 112.6 114.6
Length 186.2 195.5
So there is no reason why an ATS-L shopper would deem the bigger, more expensive CTS a substitute.
