There are certain swaps that make purists really cringe, like this Small-Block Ferrari 250 GTE or this replica Viper you see here which is powered by a twin-turbocharged LS1 V8 bored out to 427 cubic-inches, pushing out 1,048 horsepower to the rear wheels. The LS1 is tuned to a hefty 21.5 pounds of boost and runs on E-85 fuel via a Nira Motorsports i3+ standalone ECU. Power is transmitted by a T56 6-speed manual transmission, ’cause the most fun cars always have a clutch pedal.
We’d say this makes good use of a C4 Corvette, as the fiberglass replica Viper body from Sweden sits atop a C4 chassis. About twice as much horsepower as the real thing, and you can hardly tell it’s a wearing a disguise. We’re certainly fans.
If you’d like to see more after watching the video, you can get to more photos of the LS1 Viper at LSXTV.
