Welcome to a story that is sure to inspire hatred across the minds (and comment section) of Corvette lovers.
DPC Cars has stumbled upon one standard issue C3 Corvette, except it’s not running its original engine. It also hasn’t been swapped to modern times with a General Motors crate engine. No, this C3 Corvette is employing a Toyota 2JZ engine.
The 2JZ, most commonly associated with the Toyota Supra, has been tweaked, tuned and blown to post 1,100 wheel horsepower in this C3 Corvette. Hardly numbers to scoff at from an engine that was plucked from a Lexus SC300. But, it’s sure to upset quite a few with the wrong tone coming from under the hood and exhaust pipes.
But, the performance is backed up through quarter-mile times, too.
The 2JZ C3 Corvette has managed to clock an 8.9-second quarter mile run at 153 mph.

2jzs are no joke, we have one in town swapped into a Sostice running like 600+ RWHP. Bolts up to the factory Pontiac trans.
No hating here. It’s cool to custom a car the way you like it. Personally I’d rather have a twin turbo LS swap and make that power on pump gas. But at least you didn’t have to spend a ton of money designing a turbo system and tuning a custom computer.
