One Time, Jay Leno And Tim Allen Had A Burnout Contest: Video

Once upon a time, all the way back in 1995, Jay Leno had friend, and fellow car guru, Tim Allen on The Tonight Show. Here, they had a friendly competition to pull off the longest burnout they could. Except, the cars used weren’t quite matched in power and performance. Our friends at Autoblog have provided the teaser video for Leno’s new-upcoming television show, which features all the old action, and revs up for some rematching.

Allen arrived with his Ford Mustang GT, while Leno made do with his Buick Regal drag car employing an extra turbo with its V6 engine. The final results? 159 feet for Allen, and only 88 feet for Leno.

Now, the cars used in the upcoming rematch aren’t General Motors related, but it’s a fun clip nonetheless. In a promotion for the upcoming Jay Leno’s Garage, the two line up once again for a rematch in two equal Dodge Challenger Hellcats. We’re teased up until both celebrity gearheads ready to lay down rubber, a fitting “to be continued” for Leno’s new show.

Jay Leno’s Garage airs on CNBC on Wednesdays at 10 p.m.
