Jay Leno’s Garage Premiere Features 2016 Chevy Camaro Among Other Performance Machines

It’s been a bit of a hiatus for Jay Leno when it comes to primetime television, but he’s back with one of his greatest passions: cars.

Jay Leno’s Garage made its premiere last week on CNBC, though he has no plans to quit his YouTube series, and the premiere has plenty of Chevrolet performance among other goodies.

We’re sure automakers jumped at the chance to share a sliver of the spotlight with Leno, as we see the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and the Shelby GT350R highlighted specifically. Chevrolet wasn’t to be left out, where Leno and renowned drag racing champion, Erica Enders-Stevens, head to the drag strip in a 2016 Camaro.

It’s a quiet spot, with neither of them commenting on the vehicle, but we see a few nice shots of the vehicle. Thanks, product placement.

Towards the end of the episode we’re also graced with a gorgeous 1971 C3 Corvette Sting Ray restomod, featuring a 480 hp unspecified crate engine and six-speed manual transmission. It turns out the owner of the 1971 Corvette happens to be none other than Jimmie Johnson, six-time champion of the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

Overall, the show seems to be a decent blend of guest stars and high-power machines. And we can’t say no to some good ‘ol fashioned American muscle. Check out the entire first episode of the show right here.

  1. I would have more respect for Jay had he just picked one automotive company and stuck with it, my preference would have been GM!

  2. The Camaro in the Pick looks kick azz. Kind of a 60s/70s bad attitude look.
