We’ve all seen the motorized toy cars that kids roll around in and think, “awe – how cute.” This mini, all-electric GMC Sierra Denali, however, takes the concept of playtime to a whole other level.
With actual rubber tires, LED headlights, chrome-plated wheels, and a “smartphone-compatible stereo sound system,” this mini-Sierra Denali is cool enough to make a grown man slightly envious – we know we wish they were around when we were kids. This little truck will offer 2 hours of playtime per 12-hour charge. At a price of $450, there’s a lot of fun to be had for relatively little, especially compared to the MSRP of a full-size Denali truck. As this Toyland article points out, that price is a mere fraction of what it would cost for the real thing.
While on the topic of battery operated trucks, we came up with the following question; how soon can we expect to see vehicles like this all-electric Sierra on the road? Consider alternative fueling, such as propane – which there’s plenty of here in the states. On the other hand, electric motors are capable of some serious torque, and running off of a renewable energy source is more beneficial than an abundant (though still highly finite) fossil fuel.

I guess that if the Bolt Ev power train was scaled upward, the electric GMC Sierra Denali could pass $75,000. This less than a Tesla Motors Model S, but the truck can carry more and last longer.
It might be difficult to build an all electric GMC Sierra Denali; but one would think it might be possible to build a plug-in hybrid using components from the Chevy Volt with larger electric motors and a L83 5.3L EcoTec3 V8.
