Customers in India will soon have the convenience of ordering the Chevrolet Trailblazer from the online retailing juggernaut that is Amazon.com.
Chevrolet is offering the 2015 Chevrolet Trailblazer in India as a 2WD model with a 2.8L four-cylinder Duramax diesel mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a segment-first six-speed automatic with selective shifting.
Commenting on the association, Mr. Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, General Motors India, said the following:
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is a powerful car and it needs a powerful introduction. That’s why we are partnering with Amazon India, to change the way consumers can purchase a car. This is a first of its kind promotion for premium vehicles in the booming Indian e-commerce space and will enable us to create an entirely new and unique experience for Chevrolet Trailblazer customers.
The evidence for e-commerce is compelling: around 65 million consumers in India will buy online this year against around 40 million in 2014. We found that many of our customers already refer to online platforms before they buy a vehicle, especially in the premium segment, and this new approach makes buying a Chevrolet car an even more consumer friendly process.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer has made its debut on Amazon India today, and customers can now see all information about the vehicle. Customers will be able to book their car at a nominal booking amount on Amazon with the ability to get a complete refund if they were to change their mind – this starts on October 21. Bookings will be fulfilled by the nearest Chevrolet dealership.
We wonder how this will all play out. Do you think this ordering strategy will help make a significant, positive impact on sales of the Chevy Trailblazer in India? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE offer the US Colorado with the baby duramax and a six speed manual. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP PUTTING THE DIESEL MOTORS INTO UPPER TRIM LEVELS!
Other markets get a Trailblazer but we don’t. I loved my 2002 Trailblazer, but had to retire it, gave it to my niece, and bought a 2015 Traverse. It runs great, but I would rather have a rear wheel drive truck.
