How To Use Passive Door Locking With The VF Holden Commodore: Video

The passive door locking feature, optional with the VF Holden Commodore range, makes locking the car easier than ever.

The Holden Commodore simply locks itself after eight seconds without having to grab a key fob, touch the door handle or any other trickery. That’s it.

Holden has produced a, to be blunt, cheesy video on how to use the system, which seems fairly self explanatory, or something the dealer could explain easily. But, if you’re stumped on how to turn the system and off, the video above shows the button pressing required inside Holden MyLink.

The video also points out it’s very easy to lock one’s keys in the car with the system if you don’t take the fob from the vehicle, as the car will still lock after eight seconds once the last door is shut.

Maybe a bit of a half baked technology, but neat nonetheless.

  1. This may not be the right place but my (###) will not lock if the keys are inside, I also tried to close the trunk with the key fob inside the trunk, the lock releases straight away, they could do better.

  2. These days, you should not be able to lock your key in the car! No excuses. Probably the Engineer who was supposed to sort that one out took a package!
