GM Mexico Sales Down 14.4 Percent To 20,094 Vehicles In August 2015

General Motors Mexico reported 20,094 vehicle sales for the month of August 2015, down 14.4 percent from the 23,474 sold units reported in August 2014. The results represent a market share of 17.4 percent.

For the first eight months of the year, the automaker has sold 157,617 vehicle units, up 13.4 percent over the 138,893 vehicles sold during the first eight months of 2014. The results represent a market share of 18.4 percent.

August sales highlights (vs. August 2014, unless otherwise noted):

Chevrolet:

  • Chevrolet Matiz up 17 percent in August
  • Chevrolet Aveo up 9 percent for the first eight months of the year, remaining the country’s best-selling vehicle for 2015
  • Chevrolet Sonic up 51 percent in August
  • Chevrolet Malibu up 16 percent in August
  • Chevrolet Camaro up 89 percent in August
  • Chevrolet Corvette up 83 percent in August
  • Chevrolet Tornado up 26 percent in August
  • Chevrolet Silverado 3500 up 7 percent in August

Buick:

  • Buick Verano up 26 percent in August
  • Buick Encore up 36 percent in August
  • Buick Enclave up 11 percent in August

GMC:

  • GMC Terrain up 5 percent in August
  • GMC Sierra up 43 percent in August
  • GMC Acadia up 7 percent in August

Cadillac:

  • Cadillac CTS up 200 percent in August
  • Cadillac SRX up 20 percent in August
  • Cadillac Escalade up 75 percent
