The Dragon has become an iconic driving road in the United States, with car clubs, auto enthusiasts and any gearhead making the pilgrimage to the curvaceous stretch of road. 318 curves sit in front of drivers through an 11 mile stretch of road.
And Corvette owners from across the country are preparing to invade The Dragon to mark their place in the Guinness Book of World Records. According to local news affiliate WVLT in Tennessee, hundreds of Corvette owners will descend on the road in a world record showing during the local Corvette Expo.
Byron Cooper, owner of the local Corvette Expo said he’s expecting quite the showing for the cruise.
“We got cars from 8,900 miles away that have driven here for this event and to cruise the Dragon.”
“There is no record, so we’ll set the record and that will give us something to play off for years.”
The Corvette Expo begins this coming Saturday at the Loudon County Municipal Complex, with the cruise following shortly after.
