Hello, and welcome to another round of Car Clash. It’s SEMA Show time, and that means Chevrolet has revealed a plethora of concept vehicles and accessories it plans on showing.
Yesterday, we brought you a Car Clash featuring the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Red Line concept, and the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Red Line concept. Today, we’re taking two more of the concepts and pitting their designs against one another.
The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Red Line dresses up the bowtie brand’s latest midsize sedan with a host of accessories and special design bits to create a slightly aggressive, yet subtle, overall look.
Like its other Red Line concept cousins, the 2016 Malibu Red Line sports an Enhanced Silver Metallic exterior color, with a custom Charcoal roof panel and Satin Graphite and red accents.
The 2016 Malibu hosts a few unique features, such as the tinted head and taillights, custom 19-inch wheels with red accents and unique badging with glossy red and black hues. Overall, we think the midsize sedan shines with these tasteful accessories.
But, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Red Line. Oh, the 2016 Colorado Red Line. It looks great, really good actually. In fact, other than the 2016 Camaro Red Line, the Colorado Red Line is our personal favorite.
The Red Line accessories and design translate naturally to the 2016 Colorado, including its satin Graphite mirror caps, window moldings, grille surround and inserts, door handles and fog lamp bezels. And the Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude tires? They create an aggressive stance, complimenting the custom-chunky 18-inch alloy wheels.
Which is the winner here? If it isn’t obvious, the 2016 Colorado Red Line Concept. But, it’s your turn to sound off. Vote in our Car Clash poll below to pick your winner.

How about trucks with towing mirrors? The new pickup trucks GM is trying to sell they are pushing for tow vehicles. Which is great except where are the tow mirrors to go along with them? Why are they only available on certain configurations, instead of being available on all trucks..???
How anout niether? That Malibu front clip looks waaaaay too asian.
Well it is a Korean pile, just like the last one. Makes people much more likely to go and buy a Mondeo.
What about an Impala Red line !?
They need to at least build a sport version of this new Malibu to go with its slick new looks if they wont give us a full on Red Line model. 🙂
Won’t happen. Malibus these days are meant to be yet another whitegood special Camry clone. Unoffensive to look at, and extremely uninspiring to drive. If you want sportiness, get a Mondeo ST.
A Mondeo in America? C’mon.
You have to give GM kuddos for actually designing a Malibu that has a chance to compete in its segment . It’s not just for the rental car companies anymore . Give the car the tools to give consumers what they want and it will sell .
