Woman Mistakes Porsche 918 Spyder For Corvette With Humorous Question: Video

We get it. Not everyone is a car guy, or gal, for that matter. Auto enthusiasts by any degree of the stature have no problem spouting off the names, engine codes and notable features of nearly anything they find in a local parking lot.
But, there are others who merely appreciate a fine car when they see one. And we have to give them credit. But, sometimes, they’re a tad off the mark. Or, in the case of this woman, really off the mark.
The video above shows footage of Porsche’s halo sports car, the 918 Spyder, sitting at the cutting edge of hyper car realm, as we’ve come to know it. Simply put, a Corvette it is not.
But, this interested bystander is absolutely certain it is one. She spits out the question we didn’t see coming: “What year is your Corvette?”
Face palms ensue across the internet collectively.
The Porsche driver, being the good sport he is, simply replies back, “2015.” The answer certainly wasn’t a lie, but he refrained from correcting the woman that his vehicle was not in fact a Corvette, and wasn’t tied to Chevrolet, or parent company General Motors, in the slightest.
Well played, good guy Porsche driver, well played.

Actually, I can see a novice ( meaning, someone who isn’t into cars) making this mistake. IMO judging only on the picture shown. At a glance, the side front quarter panel, wheels, targa top, size even the overall shape are reminiscent of a Vette. Maybe she thought it was some type of kit, after all there aren’t many 918 Spyder’s in the wild running around.

Edit: The above post was written before watching the video! I stand corrected after seeing the video, there is NO WAY this woman, novice or not should have confused these two cars.
I mean “C O R V E T T E” is spelled out on the back of the car. 😉
I think this person is running for the NDP party in Ontario..
At least she confused it with another fast “sporty” car.
