The iconic V8 Supercars Holden Sandman has a new graphics scheme for this month, as men’s cancer awareness charity, Blue September, takes over the vehicle, according to GoAuto.
Blue September is a charity to raise awareness for testicular cancer, a front often overlooked. V8 Supercars has decided to make the message loud and clear with the Sandman’s 637 hp V8, allowing the one-off Commodore to rocket from 0-60 mph in 3 seconds.
The campaign has a goal to raise $400,000 AUD to fund early diagnosis equipment for the Australian Prostate Cancer Research and Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
V8 Supercar builder, Triple Eight, and automotive retailer Autobarn will kicked off the month with the car’s unveiling at Autobarn Logan City in Queensland where Blue September campaign director Mike Chapman explained “the importance of educating young Aussie men about the early signs of testicular cancer, whilst breaking down current stigmas around men talking about their health issues.”
The V8 Supercars Holden Sandman was originally created to promote the Red Bull racing team, and sits a truer representation of the classic panel van than the 2015 VF Commodore Sandman special edition unveiled earlier this year.

Please stop calling these tarted up wagons Sandmans Holden, they are nothing on the original shagging wagon. Fond memories of cruising down the highway at 130 k’s and hour with skynard playing and a joint in my mouth in my Sandman van as a teenager. Cant see the same in one of these new wagons, you would have to be 3 feet tall to do anything in a wagon.
