This Twin-Turbo GMC Sonoma Makes Over 1,400 LB-FT Of Torque: Video

Sure, the GMC Syclone is dandy and all with its turbocharged 4.3L V6 and all-wheel drive capabilities (especially for its time), but this GMC Sonoma powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.3L V8 is an entirely different kind of beast, and much, much more fierce.

On the dyno, this thing puts down 830 horsepower and 1,407 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. More impressive than that is the fact that the V8 in this Sonoma is utilizing a stock bottom end – we’re not sure if it’s the work of a miracle or the work of a genius. Whatever the case may be, there’s no denying that this truck is super bad-ass. It pulls away from the sports bike and the built Camaro it races with ease. Keep your eye out for the Camaro during their race, as it almost gets wrapped around a utility poll.

Reminder: street racing is dangerous and stupid. Keep it on the track, you heathens.

With 25 pounds of boost forced through a Corvette engine with LSX heads, this GMC truck certainly moves. We went ahead and put it on our list of vehicles we’d love to drive, although we can admit that it is a tad bit intimidating to watch it rip down the strip and struggle to keep its traction.

We’ll leave you to enjoy the video now, try not to get stuck watching it over and over again, like we did.
