Rare 1967 Chevrolet Camaro To Hit Mecum Chicago 2015

We think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone in America who doesn’t like the look of a first-gen Camaro, and for good reason – it’s considered by many to be the quintessential classic American muscle car. This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro — the first model year for a Camaro — holds true to this praise. It’s a black beauty that is sure to turn heads at the Mecum Chicago 2015 auction.

Power comes from a fully rebuilt 327 CI motor with 202 double hump heads and a cross ram intake. The power is then transmitted by a rebuilt 4-speed Muncie Transmission with a 3.73 rear and hardened axles. Other upgrades include an aluminum driveshaft, aluminum radiator, subframe connectors, and 4-wheel disc brakes.

Aside from all that jazz, this car is just flat-out sexy, and those BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires are begging for us to light ’em up. Do you agree with our assessment of this classic Camaro? Or is the 1969 Camaro the one you still want?

  1. If these are all GM factory parts the car would do better all stock.

As it is I suspect these are not GM parts and it is just another modified Camaro.

Nice car but I see them like this everyday.

I am still mad I scrapped a wrecked 67 with the folding back seat. Today that seat is worth thousands. Who knew?

  2. This car was restored by someone that just had the “go fast” attitude without paying attention to what he was doing aesthetically. You’ve got 15 inch cragars, a 6 inch cowl induction hood which looks gaudy and racing seats that sit, what looks like, 5 feet above the door line and it looks ridiculous. I’m gonna guess this was restored by somebody who was in his 20’s by the 1980’s because that era of people do this type of thing a lot.
