Jeff Gordon is currently in his final year of full-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series racing, and with the Chase for the Sprint Cup now upon us, Gordon’s retirement isn’t very far off. This week Hendrick unveiled what will be the four-time NASCAR champ’s final paint scheme, which should keep Gordon fans happy with a mixture of Gordon’s most recent silver 3M scheme and his iconic flame design.
The final scheme will be run during Gordon’s appearance at the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season finale on November 22nd at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Gordon hopes to take his final look Chevrolet SS into victory lane, but he’ll be happy just to celebrate his long and successful career in his last appearance behind the wheel of the No. 24.
“During that race and after that race it is only going to be a celebration,” Gordon said. “It has been an amazing career. I just never dreamed in a million years that it would have gone the way that it has and while I’m just stepping out of it there will definitely be tears — they will all be tears of joy looking ahead at the future.”
