New Chevrolet LOVA RV Teased For Chinese Market

General Motors and SAIC have released a sole teaser image for the new Chevrolet LOVA RV, which the company confirmed will arrive in the fourth-quarter of this year.
The Chevrolet LOVA nameplate was introduced in 2006, and has garnered a reputation if allowing consumers to “get the most out of life,” as Chevrolet states.
The new LOVA RV (Recreational Vehicle) will inherit Chevrolet’s “spirit of energy and optimism” to meet the growing demand of younger, Chinese consumers.
The new Chevrolet LOVA RV will be based on an all-new utility vehicle platform, with a stretched body to increase space for passengers and the cargo they take with them. And, Chevrolet says the new LOVA RV will be revealed with a new “floating roofline,” most likely a cue stolen from the 2016 Opel Astra.
Chevrolet did not release any further information on mechanical specifications at this time, but expect further info to be released leading up to the car’s debut later this year.

Is this Chevy’s version of the RV that Buick is building which is related to the Opal !? ( Both will have the floating roof line as design cues ) . They are slated for the Chinese market , but if GM can convince its American customers that its OK to buy a Chinese built Buick , can Chevy be far behind ? GM may be taking a HUGE risk by importing the Envision .
If they do , then that boat has sailed . I don’t care how nice the vehicle is ” I WILL NEVER BY A COMMUNIST BUICK ” !
[ sorry, went a bit off subject ] .
Before you get any farther off target save the complaining till they actually import a vehicle from China. I really don’t expect we will see one very soon.
Keep in mind GM does not own 100% of the company in China and would have to share profits so exporting is not a slam dunk deal on a vehicle that would sell in large volumes.
To be honest you will not see this car here anyways.
On paper inside GM it makes more sense to import the Envision than find an assembly plant here in the states to build it . Plus there is room in Buicks portfolio for such a car . Don’t hold your breath Scott , its coming .
The LOVA would be an Opel Meriva if not for the PSA deal. Even then, this vehicle would be ideal parked next to Karl as part of an Opel discount niche line up designed to fill the old Chevy gap.
I look at certain global vehicles and wish GM had the will to bring the designs home. The Niva would be great, maybe as a GMC or even butch Buick.
