Miata-Based Exocet Kit Car Uses LSA Power, Will Kill You: Video

It takes a special breed to have the time and patience to complete a kit car project. It takes an even greater breed to build one with an LSA crate engine.

But, that’s what this man has done and, in the process, created his death wish. The Exocet kit car uses Mazda Miata bones, meaning it only weighs in at 1,900 pounds. Then, you add in the 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8 engine, which produces 556 hp. That’s nearly 3.5 horsepower per pound of car. And horses certainly do run fast.

Putting it further into perspective is the attached video, showing the incredible acceleration in the car. Complimenting the acceleration must be some pretty beefy brakes, because the passenger actually loses his glasses once the driver applies them to slow down the hurling mass of framework and V8 engine.

The world’s scariest awesome go-kart? We think so.
