Jimmy Kimmel Gives Train Hero A 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible

Airman Spencer Stone who helped save countless lives on a train last month recently visited the Jimmy Kimmel show and left with some pretty awesome gifts. Including a new car. Which happened to be a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible.

Stone and his two friends, Oregon National Guardsman Aleksander Skarlatos and college friend Anthony Sadler, risked their lives to take down a heavily armed gunman who opened fire on a train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris.

The trio stopped what could have been a senseless massacre, and for that they’ve been rightfully showered with awards, honors and praise from dignitaries, governments and ordinary people from across the globe. They are true heroes, no doubt.

After recounting the story on the Kimmel show, Stone, a Golden State Warriors fan, was treated to an unbelievable surprise.

“We have a visitor who wanted to say hello to you,” says Kimmel during the interview. The camera then takes us outside to Golden State Warriors’ star Klay Thompson, who rolls up to the studio in a brand new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible.

Thompson, who clearly hasn’t mastered a manual transmission, then pulls up and heads inside where he bequeaths Stone with a team hat and jersey. Then he flips Stone the keys to the 2016 Camaro SS Convertible.

“Do you know how to drive stick?” says Kimmel. “I can, I can… ” replies Stone. “Well, beautiful, because that 2016 Camaro is for you as well.”

Enjoy the 455 hp LT1 V8, Spencer! Hope you can pay that pesky gift tax.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
