It was only a matter of time. Following the announcement of the 2016 VF Holden Commodore Series II, we knew our favorite Australian performance division, Holden Special Vehicles, would be following closely behind with an updated range of hopped-up Aussie muscle cars.
Rightfully titled the Gen-F2 range, it’s expected HSV will reveal a refreshed front fascia, following in the footsteps of the 2016 Commodore Series II.
But, the bigger news will most likely be in the powerplant side of things.
Previous reports stated HSV will be boosting its entire lineup of vehicles, as the 2016 Commodore Series II receives 6.2-liter LS3 power, once reserved for HSV exclusively. HSV is expected to outfit the GTS and Maloo range with superchargers to ensure some of the most powerful Australian-built vehicles the country has ever seen.
HSV released a brief teaser video to their official Facebook page, which you can see here, and stated the reveal will take place September 22 at 7:30 a.m. That’s September 21 at 5:30 p.m. for those of us residing stateside.
The Gen-F2 range of HSVs is expected to hit showrooms in October, following the launch of the 2016 Holden Commodore Series II.
