GM’s OnStar To Bring AtYourService Offers To RemoteLink Mobile App

Back in January, General Motors’ telematics subsidiary, OnStar, announced AtYourService — a new service and platform that provides customers with merchant and retailer offers. OnStar has now announced plans to bring AtYourService to its RemoteLink mobile application. The service is currently available in the United States through OnStar advisors to any subscriber with a paid OnStar plan.

“As we expand the AtYourService platform, we’re excited to give our customers another way to access unique deals,” said Mark Lloyd, consumer online officer, OnStar. “The service will be easily accessible to our customers, providing them added value through channels that are most convenient to them.”

For customers with an active OnStar subscription, the app will have an AtYourService tab, which will include featured offers, sponsored locations, and a category search tool to locate multiple options for dining, retail, fuel and more. The content will update based on the subscriber’s location, time of day and day of the week. Users will be able to save offers for use anytime, and the app can be personalized by favoriting frequently visited locations. Guidance plan subscribers will be able to send directions to an offer-based location downloaded directly to their vehicle from the RemoteLink app.

Speaking of RemoteLink, OnStar cites the app as having over 1.6 million active users to remotely start their vehicles, unlock doors, get vehicle information, send routes to their vehicle and customize Wi-Fi settings.

“With our very active RemoteLink user base, and a growing demand for mobile couponing, the integration of AtYourService into our RemoteLink mobile app will help create a more personalized and convenient driving experience.”

That growing demand in mobile couponing translates to more than a forecasted 92 million mobile coupon users in the U.S. in 2015, according to Statista. Additionally, mobile coupons are redeemed 10 times more often than paper coupons.

Some of the companies participating in OnStar’s AtYourService platform include Dunkin’ Donuts and RetailMeNot for national retailers in numerous categories. Customers can also access special deals from Audiobooks.com, which is offering an extended trial and access to more than 60,000 audio books. In addition, subscribers to the OnStar Guidance plan can have an OnStar advisor book hotel rooms on the go through Priceline.com.

Outside of a select few specially-ordered fleet vehicles, OnStar is built into every new General Motors vehicle in the United States, which includes vehicles from Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. The telematics service is also available at a growing number of global markets. AtYourService, meanwhile, is currently exclusively available in the U.S.

  1. I believe OnStar’s endgame will be along these lines. And that you won’t pay for many of their services.

The model it’s under now is kinda weak… but has huge Trojan Horse potential.

    1. That could be the endgame… although people pay for the service as it is right now, which means that they see value in it.

  2. That sounds like a plan.
