Following the announcement by Chevrolet stating it will update vehicles with the eight-inch variant of the MyLink system, GMC has followed suit stating it will have an update ready in March of 2016 for those searching for Android Auto capability with its eight-inch touch screens.
The update will affect 2016 GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon models, and will be performed by any local GMC dealer.

“Providing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility ushers in a new era of staying connected in a convenient manner,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president, Buick and GMC.
Apple CarPlay requires an iPhone 5 or later, while Android users must be running Lollipop 5.0 or above to use Android Auto.
