You may recall that students from Detroit’s Osborn High School and Pontiac High School are part of the GM Student Corps program – which served the purpose of revitalizing their respective communities.
Amongst the several successful projects that were carried out to achieve this goal was the refreshing of the Pontiac area, this included a transformation of the high school’s entrance. Part of the face-lift for the high school is a massive “PHOENIX PRIDE” sign, something to lift the spirits of the students as they return for the 2015-16 school year. The 10 Pontiac High students who were interns of the GM Student Corps also volunteered at local social services agencies, assembled bicycles and fixed-up a community ball field.
By fulfilling community services and working alongside volunteers from the GM Powertrain in Pontiac, the students learned the values of, “leadership, teamwork and making a difference in their communities.” We hope GM continues to positively impact the youths of today’s world, making it a better place for us all.

Great job GM. Keep up the local outreach.
Good to see GM doing good things. They’re one of the best for a reason!
