General Motors South Africa Sales Up 4 Percent To 5,155 Units In August 2015

General Motors South Africa sold 5,155 vehicles in August 2015, a 4 percent increase over the previous month of July 2015. By comparison, the industry reported a 5.5 percent sales drop for the month, according to the sales raining by the National Automobile Association Manufacturers of South Africa (NAAMSA).

The General states that August was the “single biggest Chevrolet volume month since October 2014″. In addition, Opel posted a 76 percent sales increase during the month. The automaker didn’t provide specific sales figures for neither CHevrolet nor Opel.

Brian Olson, GMSA Vice President for Vehicles Sales, Service and Marketing, stated that customers can look forward to an enhanced Isuzu KB later this month when the automaker launches the new range.

“There are many additions to the range, some of which include the introduction of a 4×4 automatic on the 3.0 LX and the introduction of extended and crew cab models, including value for money entry level extended and double cab derivatives. The new additions will place the Isuzu light commercial vehicle portfolio in a very competitive position,” said Olson.
