Flame-Throwing Camaro Sets The Record For Fastest Manual GM Vehicle, Again: Video

In a time where the majority argue that “automatics are faster,” it’s easy to forget that real driving means having three pedals, at least for us. Sure, if you’re goal is to go as fast as possible in a straight line then utilizing an automatic transmission makes sense – but what if you’re goal is to be the fastest manual vehicle at the track?
The owner of this fourth-gen Chevrolet Camaro previously held the record for the fastest “manual GM vehicle” in the 1/4 mile, and in this video we had the joy of seeing him do it again. His first pass of the day at Holley LS Fest – and the season – nets a time of 8.33 at 168.53 miles per hour. This is following a few tweaks to the previous year’s setup, making the Camaro‘s current power output 1,100-1,150 hp with about 23 pounds of boost.
We throughly enjoyed watching the entire video (over and over). That being said, you can fast forward to 3:05 if you just want to skip to the high-octane battle between this Charizard-like Chevrolet Camaro and a Ford Mustang notchback.
