It was a not-so lucky day for Montrose Cadillac-Buick-GMC, located in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.
Thomas Young, piloting a tanker truck, reportedly took a sip of his Dr. Pepper when he began to choke on the soft drink. In his coughing fit, he lost control of the truck, veering off the road, down an embankment and crashing into a vehicle display at the Cadillac-Buick-GMC dealer, according to local WBTW.
In total, 23 vehicles were damaged in the freak accident, and the truck’s force pushed one car into the showroom, damaging the building.
Local authorities are glad the accident occurred on a Sunday when the dealership is closed, and the driver of the truck walked away uninjured.
“There was nobody here. No employees here. Montrose is only closed one day a week, and it happened to be Sunday that this happened so they were very lucky,” said Hermitage Fire Chief John Flynn.
Police cited Young for careless driving after the incident was dealt with accordingly.
