Based on GM’s Zeta platform shared with the fifth-generation Chevy Camaro, the Chevrolet SS is available exclusively as a four-door sedan. The vehicle is getting a series of notable updates for the 2016 model year, which could result in pent-up demand of the vehicle as potential buyers wait for 2016 models.
As the SS rose 126 percent, overall sales of Chevrolet vehicles in the U.S. — which include those of the SS Sedan — dropped 1.52 percent to 183,098 units in August. See more GM August 2015 sales results.

With the deterioration of the Australian dollar versus the US dollar, Chevy can lower the price and go for some sales volume as well as make more money.
This is a very nice sedan and i would like to own one since the SS isn’t offered in the Chevy Impala anymore but, i refuse to pay almost $50, 000 for one. There should be an affordable trim level just like Dodge has with the affordable RT hemi all the way up to the hellcat, which is what some consumers and blogs are camparing the Chevy SS to.
For those that thumb down my comment above, you must have $45,745 laying around. The reason the Chevy SS isn’t selling is because not only is it a blatantly plain mixture between a chevy cruze and malibu but, its priced too high to only have one trim level.
no doubt Diddy, I hear you.
buying one is a major monetary commitment.
Should I remind you that the Chevy SS is only available in the United states of America. We mexicans can only hope for a v8 chevy since we don´t get the Impala here in Mexico
