Based on GM’s Alpha platform, the 2014-present Cadillac CTS represents the third generation of the CTS nameplate. For the third gen, the CTS is available exclusively as a mid-size four-door sedan (at least for now). The sport-luxury sedan is getting a series of notable updates for the 2016 model year, including the ultra high-performance 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and the new inclusion of GM’s all-new 3.6L V6 LGX engine.
As the CTS fell 33 percent, overall sales of Cadillac vehicles in the U.S. — which include those of the CTS — dropped 5.48 percent to 15,738 units in August. See the complete GM August 2015 sales results.
