2016 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition: Hot Or Not?

Earlier this week, GMC showed off the 2016 Sierra Elevation Edition, a special edition trim level for the popular luxury truck.

Sitting as merely an exterior-design package, GMC buyers can look forward to setting themselves apart with unique styling cues with the 2016 Sierra Elevation. But, is it a looker, or a loser?

Previously, when we asked you, the readers, to choose the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or the 2016 GMC Sierra 1500, the majority of you chose the 2016 Sierra. So, we have a hunch many will think the Elevation is a hot truck with its body-colored accents, including the bumpers and grille surround.

Additionally, the 20-inch aluminum wheels are finished in black to set the 2016 Sierra Elevation edition apart from any other Sierra on the road.

The 2016 GMC Sierra is a handsome truck, and we feel the Elevation trim does it nothing but favors in the styling department. But, we invite you to sound off in our poll below, and discuss your opinion in the comments section.

The new headlights are less chome/blingy while looking higher end and flashier. Well done. They especially look good on darker trucks, where the old ones stuck out a bit.

It looks like it can rip your face off. I can’t wait to see it in person so I can get my face ripped off.

Looks way better than the Chevy i don’t know what’s going on with the design team over at Chevrolet only cars they seem to only make really good looking & competitive is the Camaro & Corvette everything else gets mediocre designs the new impala only looks good on the inside the 2016 malibu only looks good on the inside from the side and in the rear the front end is Hideous 2016 cruze ugly 2016 equinox ugly 2015-15 SS not enough power and not aggressive looking Chevy needs to ditch the bland & simple look 2015-16 Silverado is ok but could be better i say that because looks like dodge and ford seems to push their designs to the limit take the 2016 f150 in platinum or king ranch edition these trucks are loaded and has a lot to offer the customer for the big price tag ford its asking for the Silverado LTZ not so even the 2015-16 fully loaded dodge rams when loaded looks awesome i would pick the GMC over the Chevrolet anyday Chevy needs to stop trying to be so cheap and go all the way

The new F150 is a mishmash of horrid design-cues. It’s what happens when “aggressive” and “strong” become the only design theme considered and design balance isn’t considered. The Ram truck, while not bad looking, is the same basic design that truck has had for a decade+. It was interesting when it first came out, but now it’s just bland and boring. The 2016 Silverado is a weird update to the truck, I grant you (I think the 2014-2015 were better looking), but I understand why they went the way they went.

The Impala is gorgeous. The Malibu, while looking like a baby-Impala, is okay, but should have had its own style. If you don’t like the way the SS looks, then the car is not for you. Look to the Camaro or Corvette instead. There are plenty who think the SS is gorgeous.

As for the GMC here, I do think it’s a great looking truck. My only dislike of the 2016 redesign (which I think is even more obvious in this edition) is the LEDs wrapping almost all the way around the headlights. I think it’s a bit much. Otherwise, great looking truck!

I like it and think it looks better than its brother the Silverado.

I’m really liking these trucks now. I owned a 13′ f150 Platinum & just traded for a 15′ High country. Man what a truck! These GMC trucks are really fine as well..only thing this truck needs are black GMC emblems and it’d be ready to go!

Love it but if the past is any indication, GMC will forget about those of us who want a completely blacked out truck with the creature comforts of the SLT. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they leave money on the table by not offering enough customization. Chevy offer more and Ford offers the most when it comes to making the truck “your own”… Maybe they have finally learned their lesson for the 2016 as I am ready to trade my 2014…
