While there’s nothing quite like a naturally aspirated engine, there’s definitely much to love about a proper turbocharger to add some forcefully-induced fun. If you’re not up for the project yourself, Barrett-Jackson has you covered, as it is preparing to auction off this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS complete with a custom twin-turbo setup.
The basis of the build is a 496 cubic-inch big-block V8, then two 76 millimeter Turbonetics turbochargers were added with custom plumbing and a custom exhaust. Additionally, functional hood vents have been added to allow air flow into the unique intercooler and radiator system.
Four-wheel independent suspension and a custom chassis sits tidy underneath the body of the 1969 Camaro, though, this 1969 Camaro seems to be a more fitting ride for the drag strip than your local motorsports park.
An added bonus is the car has been tuned to run like a champ on 93 octane, meaning the 1969 Camaro will be more than happy to take a leisurely cruise around town. That is, before you take it down the quarter-mile, of course. That’s where this beast will be at peace.
Barrett-Jackson will see this beast off between September 24 and September 26 during its Las Vegas auction. If you’re in the pursuit for power, the chase ends here, Camaro fans.
