You Shouldn’t Steal A Chevrolet Camaro During A Test Drive

Tip to car thieves: Attempting to steal a vehicle during a test drive is a terrible idea. Just ask this pair of would-be burglars from Pleasanton, CA accused of appropriating a white Chevrolet Camaro SS from a dealership in Vacaville.
According to local police, the two burglars: a 37-year-old male and a 33-year-old female, arrived at the dealership at 6:30 pm Friday evening looking to buy a car and soon took the Camaro on a test drive with a salesman.
The two then drove to a Wells Fargo Bank, having told the salesperson they were ready to make a purchase. That’s about when it all started to go South, according to police.
The female told the salesperson she needed to return to the car for water, while the male said he forget his ID back in the car. However, the salesperson was no fool either, and quickly went looking for the pair.
He found them in the car but before he could act the male claimed to have a gun, hit the gas, and took off.
Authorities were immediately notified and cops soon spotted the Camaro speeding down Interstate 80. A full-on police chased ensued and the Camaro at one point even drove into incoming traffic.
The thieves then ditched the car in a neighborhood and attempted to flee on foot, but cops were soon on scene. The female was found in a shed and refused to surrender until a K9 was brought in to forcibly extract her, while the male was found nearby and arrested.
The pair now faces multiple felony charges including carjacking, conspiracy, evading authorities, resisting arrest and violating probation, according to CBS Sacramento.
Just to clarify, it wasn’t a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, which launches later this year. Still, not the slickest move we’ve seen.

They look like two broke a** couple on the mugshot lol
Something tells me this car didn’t have OnStar. lol
OnStar is standard equipment.
Vacaville?
Home to the California Penal Mental Facility (Charles Manson, Juan Corona, etc.) and California State Prison?
Yikes.
The cockpit is all familiar Camaro, save for the alcantara-covered steering wheel and shift knob, as well as the superbly supportive seats. While they are perfectly supportive for the track, they are still comfortable enough for long drives.
