While General Motors leaves the commercial van segment stale in the United States, the Vauxhall and Opel range of commercial vans have received a handful of improvements for the 2016 model year.
Starting with the 2016 Vivaro Combi, a new 1.6-liter BiTurbo CDTi has been added, producing 236 lb-ft of torque and 123 hp. Vauxhall says the new engine provides more than enough power for some of the most daunting tasks the Vivaro may face, while returning 49.6 mpg on the European cycle, and remains Euro 6 compliant.
Additional creature comforts have been included, too. The 2016 Vivaro now features keyless open and start, a tablet holder and an improved version of IntelliLink.
Moving up the range to the 2016 Movano, the nine-seat Combi or 17-seat minibus may be had with a new 2.3-liter BiTurbo diesel engine. The new 2.3-liter diesel engine may be had in two output variants: one boasting 265 lb-ft and 143 hp, and the other producing 280 lb-ft and 167 hp.
The 2016 Movano range also receives new driver assistance package. The package includes high beam assist, lane departure warning, fog lights and an onboard computer.
The 2016 Vivaro and 2016 Movano are both available for order now.

These things need to be here yesterday. We are losing so many fleet and commercial sales to ford with their new transit, and somewhat to ram with the promaster, but not so much.
Man these things are ugly. Make them less painful to the eye and you can compete.
We do need these like yesterday. The only “ugly” in it is the side sculpting on the front door. Lose that with US version sheet metal and a Chevy or GMC front end and the thing would be fine.
You’re funny. You say the only ‘ugly’ thing is the side scultping of one door. I think if someone doesn’t like that it’s fair to say the entire side is ugly — since the rear side doors & windows ALSO suffer from random ‘sculpting’.
So if the side is the only ‘ugly’ thing why do you then add a GMC front end fix is also needed? You just said three out of four sides are lacking. (And I agree.) So all that’s left is the back.
A Google search of that reveals YUCK. Four out of four sides a mess. Especially compared to the Ford Transits.
I’m certain the GMC peeps could give this a complete makeover that would please the eyes.
Vivaro 2 is an evolutionary design of the previous generation and since its introduction in September 2014, sales have increased by 35% y.o.y. Vauxhall’s Luton plant (where it is built) has already added an extra shift 7 days a week starting this September. Vivaro 1 sold almost 1m units over 12 years … clearly Vivaro 2 is a European hit, again.
As for the styling, it may be a little quirky and ugly to some, but it’s a functional vehicle which stands out in the crowd, and by my reckoning is no more ugly than the Fiat/Ram Promaster, whose front looks like its already done 15 rounds with Tyson Fury!
Why GM doesn’t push Opel to deign its commercial vehicle with Chevrolet and GMC in spite of for Opel case collaborate with Renault and Fiat and for Chevrolet to use a Nissan van as the Expess city.
I always believed in GMA. Now im gonna buy their car at the auction https://1bid1.com/ but dont know which model to choose. Maybe smbd will advise me?
The Opal design is intelligent, unlike US Troglelites ,being very fuel efficient the technology under the nose is better than the space shuttle. You are concerned about aesthetics, they look fine, sorry but USA could not achieve that must be the multiculturalism its far too complex to think strait now.
Meanwhile they all are inter-engineered using ford transit filters and euro ford geometry of displacement. Do your research.
