Corvette C3 Owners Being Weird: Leopard Print Edition

What is it with Corvette C3 owners and their, erm, interesting paint schemes and wraps? First we had the pizza-tacular chew-vrolet C3, then we stumbled across the geeked-out Star Wars C3, and now we have well, this, a leopard-print 1971 Chevrolet Corvette C3.

You may have heard of a vehicle called the Cheetah. This is not that.

Like the owner of the Star Wars Corvette, the proud owner of this be-speckled beast has finally grown tired of the celebrity and fame afford by such a vehicle and has decided to list the car on eBay. Unfortunately, the sale didn’t turn out as planned and the reserve was not met, despite a generous $6,000 bid by a fellow feline admirer.

On the flip side, that means you could still secure this spotted C3 with a slightly more generous offer.

But before you run off and place a bid here are a few things you should know. First of all, those spots don’t won’t run. The listing tells us this one of a kind, “glossy beauty” was hand painted in 1996 by an artist in Sarasota, Fl. Yup, it’s a cheetah for life, apparently.

The seller shares that they have a disability, and as such the vehicle has hardly turned a wheel over the last seven or eight years, with just a few summer drives and some monthly starts in the winter to keep it smooth.

The car was also purchased with a 1975 Corvette front-end. While we’re not told the reason for the swap, the seller tells us the front-end was fitted prior to the vehicles’ lone accident, where it was then looked-over and restored where needed.

Now, all it needs is a new set of tires on a bit of TLC. Check out some of the other features in the listing below, then pop over to the eBay listing and secure yourself some meow-riffic Corvette action.

• Lights and wipers work OK.
• Odometer broke at 95949 miles. There are probably another 10,000 miles on it.
• Put in a tilt steering wheel, CB cassette radio. Center arm rest (usually broken in many old Corvettes) was replaced with a metal custom piece.
• Carpet looks new , replaced a few years ago.
• Both manual windows work fine. All glass including pop out back window, is in good shape.
• It looks good with a nice interior.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
