600 HP C6 Corvette Z06 And Ariel Atom 3 Play On The Nürburgring: Video

YouTube is littered with nearly every type of car comparison imaginable, but up until this point we’ve yet to stumble across such a pair of competitors as different yet as evenly matched as the Ariel Atom 3 and the modified Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 that attack the Nürburgring in the video below.
On the one hand we have a vehicle that famously melted Jeremy Clarkson’s face with wind, and is really nothing more than an engine, a seat, and a slinky exoskeleton. The third iteration, the Ariel Atom 3, turns up the wick with a 310 hp supercharged Honda K20Z4 i-VTEC engine, which absolutely catapults the 1,350 lb Atom down the racetrack. Any racetrack.
On the other hand we have the trusty C6 Corvette Z06, with its tried-and-true 505 hp 7.0L (427 ci) LS7 V8 and comparatively porky 3,130 lbs of girth. However, we’re told the blacked-out Z06 in the video below actually kicks out 600 hp, though we aren’t privy to how it manages to squeeze out the extra 95 hp.
In reality, the specs don’t matter. The fact is, these two competitors are perfectly matched on the Nürburgring, despite the gaping horsepower and weight disparity.
A few things to note before you hit play. 1) Impatient types should skip ahead to the 1:05 mark. 2) Skip to 1:25 if you just want to see these two ramp up to warp speed and simply obliterate everything else. 3) The Ariel Atom didn’t give up on lap three, it simply ran out of fuel.
Without further adieu…

Are you kidding? You obviously didn’t see the same video. The Z06 did try to keep up but it was obviously lost in the dust. Not even a fighting chance. The Ariel wasn’t even breathing hard.
Thank you very much, nice sharing
