Sibling rivalry is alive and well within General Motors’ truck portfolio. Echoing the design themes of the Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Edition, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado has arrived back in black with the 2016 Colorado Midnight Edition.
The special-edition parade continues, as Chevrolet looks to keep aftermarket money inside the brand with factory-ready accessories for the hot-selling Colorado.
The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado dawns on post-dusk inspired apparel with an all-black exterior color while a black bowtie, grille and even the 18-inch aluminum wheels are finished in a glossy black.
The murdered out 2016 Colorado Midnight Edition also features a spray-on bedliner with soft-folding tonneau cover, both colored in, you guessed it, black.
The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Midnight Edition will be available on LT variants of the truck with extended and crew cabs. two-wheel and four-wheel drive are eligible for the classy-black looks as well. Additionally, the newly-announced 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine may also be had with the Midnight Edition. Because what’s darker than 369 lb-ft of torque available at 2,000 RPM?

GM seems to continue to focus on these “Off-Road” appearance packages…Where or where is the ZQ8 option ? They should go ahead and put the ZR2 concept truck into production, and also offer a true “street” version with lowering springs, beefier anti-roll bars, etc.
I am not trying to dwell on the past, but the ZQ8 and ZR2 trucks were awesome on the last version of the S-10 pickup.
Yeah, a return of the (GMC) Cyclone hopefully will be in the cards in the next couple years.
Plus, notice the lower front air dam/fog light fill ins and maybe/probably the bumper are still “dark grey” plastic. Certainly noticeable after a year or so when those parts fade just that bit more, or anytime the black is shined up, it will look mismatched.
At least on the Silverado they gave the blackout treatment to all parts.
