2015 Rocky Ridge Callaway Special Edition Silverado Is Gently Tested: Video

Motorweek recently managed to nab some seat time in one of the automotive world’s most beloved, yet contradictory creations: the performance truck.

While Chevrolet and GMC currently do not offer a spiced-up version of the Silverado or Sierra to compete with likes of the the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, the 2015 Rocky Ridge Callaway Special Edition Silverado featured here reminds us there are still plenty of ways for GM truck enthusiasts to ride around in a heady pickup.

Forged by Rocky Ridge Trucks and Callaway Cars, the latter went to work on the Silverado’s 6.2 Liter V8 EcoTec3 L86, strapping it with the same 2.3L TVS triple-intercooled supercharger used to boost Callaway Corvettes.

All that boost now drives 560 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque to all four-wheels, which easily pips the 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque the Raptor squeezes out of its 6.2L V8.

Meanwhile, Rocky Ridge took care of the rest, adding a four-inch lift kit specially designed sit on fat 20-inch, nine-spoke wheels wrapped in 35-inch rubber. It also chucked in new shocks on all four corners with coilovers up front.

It might not come from the factory, but who really cares when you can order it from your local Chevrolet dealership with a three-year/36,000 mile warranty. Plus, you also get peace of mind in knowing you can leave Ford’s dinosaur in the dust.

Check out how it all shakes out in the review video above.
