1966 C2 Corvette Faces Some Unlikely Competition: Video

The 2016 Toyota Camry is probably, no, is the antithesis of the 1966 C2 Corvette. But, there’s a method to the madness here.

Edmunds has rounded up both cars for a comparison test to see what 50 years of technological advancements does for performance, handling and comfort. More importantly, the Toyota Camry’s V6 puts out nearly as much power as the 1966 Corvette’s burly V8.

So, though the hot laps, the braking tests and the figure eight, it’s clear the 1966 Corvette is outgunned in nearly every way. But, those are textbook tests. Obviously, fun factor can only be measured by the driver.

And fun factor is something the Camry doesn’t possess, which is fairly common knowledge throughout the industry. And, Edmunds goes as far to say the Camry can be classified as an “appliance.”

There isn’t really a winner and loser here, as it’s all done in good fun but, dangle keys to both cars in front of us, and you know which we’d take for cruise.
